Simple Steps for Starting Your Business is a five-part series of pre-business workshops to help reach a "go or no-go" decision for a start up. The content presented is designed to work in conjunction with mentoring and includes homework to be completed between each workshop. The program is not designed to provide all the information needed to start a business, but rather to help you decide whether you are ready to take the next steps towards becoming an entrepreneur.
Part I: Startup Basics
This introductory workshop focuses on the basics of testing a business idea and identifying the key factors that influence startup success. Startup Basics provides an overview of the skills and tools needed when deciding to start a business. In this session, you will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of owning a business, the most profitable form for your business, and the fundamentals of formation, organization, marketing, cash flow and funding sources.This workshop will be taught by Marty Schwartz.
