Community Workshop: The Power of 10
Culmination of Placemaking Initiative
- Date: 06/10/2017 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
- Location: Locatelli Student Activity Center
Santa Clara University
Santa Clara, California 95053
This workshop will be led by Fred Kent of the Project for Public Spaces and utilize their "Power of 10" concept. The idea behind this concept is that places thrive when users have a range of reasons (10+) to be there. These might include a place to sit, playgrounds to enjoy, art to touch, music to hear, food to eat, history to experience, and people to meet. Ideally, some of these activities will be unique to that particular place, reflecting the culture and history of the surrounding community. Local residents who use this space most regularly will be the best source of ideas for which uses will work best.
This is the premier event over the past several months of placemaking workshops and is your opportunity to share your input on the future of Santa Clara. Placemaking inspires people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of the community. This City is your city - you're encouraged to attend and let your thoughts be heard!
