The Parks & Recreation Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to parks, recreation, playgrounds and entertainment. The Commission oversees an annual Art and Wine Festival held in Central Park.

The Commission considers the annual budget of the Parks & Recreation Department during the process of its preparation and makes recommendations to the City Manager and the City Council. It assists in the planning and supervision of a recreation program for the inhabitants of the City, promotes and stimulates public interest, solicits the cooperation of school authorities and other public and private agencies.

The Parks & Recreation Commission consists of seven commissioners that are volunteers and are appointed by the City Council. To be eligible, you must be a registered voter and resident of Santa Clara, and may not hold any paid office in, or be employed by, the City of Santa Clara. Park Dedication- Central Park Annex

  • Date: 03/22/2018 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

The dedication of the new Central Park Annex park site, located at 2902 Miles Drive, is scheduled for March 22 at 3:30 p.m. The new park, built by the housing developer (Prometheus) for the City of Santa Clara, includes a new playground, restroom, multipurpose grass meadow, and natural habitat.

Parking for the event will be available across Kiely Boulevard, at Central Park’s Pavilion Parking lot (909 Kiely Boulevard). Please park in Central Park and use the cross walk to access the Central Park Annex.

Neighborhood access, on Miles Drive, is open during regular park hours.
