Library PINs Arrive on Monday

The Santa Clara City Library will be implementing Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) on Monday, December 3, 2018.

Your New Library PIN
To add an extra layer of security to your library account, the Santa Clara City Library has given you a new Personal Identification Number (PIN). Starting on 12/3/2018, you will need two things to use a library self-checkout machine:

• Your library card number
• Your 4-digit PIN

You also need to enter both numbers to login to your library account online. You don’t need the PIN when library staff check out materials for you.

What is my PIN?
When you applied for the library card, you may have given your date of birth. For example, if your date of birth is 1-1-1975, your PIN is 1975. If you did not give your date of birth when you applied for the library card, then your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number. For example, if your phone number is (408) 111-1110, then your PIN is 1110. After December 3, 2018, if you would like to choose a different PIN you may do so by logging into your library account at sclibrary.org or visiting any Santa Clara City Library branch.

How can I get help if I have questions about my PIN?
Please call (408) 615-2970 or ask staff when you are in the library.
