LGBTQ Pride Month

Pride at the Library

  • Date: -

Front

The Santa Clara City Library is celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ) Pride Month this year with inclusive programming throughout the entire month of June. We are hosting events for all age groups, including a family storytime, educational programs, free movie screenings, arts & crafts events, and our fourth annual Teen Pride crafts party!

Celebrating 50 Years of LGBTQ Pride

The month of June was chosen to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Manhattan, widely regarded as the beginning of the modern LGBTQ rights movement in the United States. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and the movement for LGBTQ equality.

Come visit Central Park Library during LGBTQ Pride Month to check out our display of books, movies, and music from our LGBTQ collection.

We are also collecting donations of socks and unopened toiletries until the end of the month to support the LGBTQ Youth Space in San Jose, a non-profit serving local LGBTQ youth and young adults ages 13-25 in Santa Clara County. You may drop off your donations in the bin beside the LGBTQ Pride display at Central Park Library.
