Citizen Satisfaction Survey on Public Safety
Over the course of the next year, the Santa Clara Police Department will be engaging in a new initiative to collect feedback from the community. Residents will have the opportunity to provide anonymous thoughts on their view of law enforcement, community trust in policing, perceptions of public safety and satisfaction with community policing initiatives.
An independent service provider, My90, has been retained via a grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to in collect this community feedback, analyze the data and communicate the findings to both the Police Department and broader community. With this information, the Police Department will have new tools to communicate more effectively with residents and promote public transparency.
How will it work? My90 will collect anonymous feedback primarily through text message. Survey questions will be offered in multiple languages and will be available on online platforms, such as Nixle and Nextdoor. In addition, a representative panel of community leaders will also be convened to examine the short and long-term public safety needs of our community.
