The City of Santa Clara invites you to learn about the new Santa Clara International Swim Center (ISC), Community Recreation Center (CRC) and International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) project and requests your input on the process for a reimagined destination for Community Recreation, Swimming and Competitive Aquatics in Central Park.  The next oppertunities are scheduled for Tuesday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 13.

Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival

Central Park, 909 Kiely Boulevard
Saturday, September 16, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 17, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Join us at the thirty-seventh annual Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival in beautiful Central Park. Start the morning in a peaceful setting and partake in a delicious pancake breakfast at the Pavilion. Spend your afternoon browsing among a variety of 165 arts and crafts booths, with items ranging from fine paintings to toys, jewelry, ceramics, and more.
Sip and savor premium wines served by J. Lohr, Fortino, Bargetto, and Wente wineries or craft beer in a shaded beer tent. Satisfy your taste buds in “Food Alley” where two-dozen local community groups will cook up international food favorites.

Enjoy continuous live entertainment on three stages throughout Central Park. Don’t forget to check out Kids Kingdom. With something for everyone, it’s sure to impress the whole family. Enjoy the 15 different rides and attractions, grab lunch at the Food Court, enjoy entertainment on the Kids Kingdom Stage, have your face painted, visit the Fire Safety Trailer, explore Toddler Town, and much more!
Admission to the festival is free. Please remember that animals and smoking are not allowed per City Ordinance in the event venue. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Open Ceramics Studio

The open ceramics studio program is open to adults who have completed a ceramics class or have previous experience, and are familiar with the equipment. No formal instruction is given, but an attendant is available to provide information as needed.

Open Ceramics Lab at the Community Recreation Center
969 Kiely Boulevard
Open to adults 18 years and older
Open Tuesdays, noon-3:00 p.m., and Thursdays, 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Open Ceramics Lab at the Senior Center
1303 Fremont Street
Open to adults 50 years and older
Open Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00-6:30 p.m.

Site specific passes are available for purchase at the Senior Center and at the Community Recreation Center. Passes do not expire and are non-transferrable. Passes are valid only for open studio. Passes are sold in increments of 4 and are $8.00 per visit for residents and $10.00 per visit for non-residents. Individuals may drop in for $12.00 per visit. Additional fees are charged for glazing and firing, clay and tools.

Swimming Updates

The International Swim Center will be open Labor Day (Sept. 4) for Senior Swim (11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m.), Adult Lap Swim (11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.) and Recreation Swim (1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.).

Beginning Tuesday, September 5:

  • Senior Swim year round times are 11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m.  City of Santa Clara residents, 50 years and older are eligible to participant in this program.  A Senior Center Card is required.  For information about obtaining a Senior Center Card, click here.
  • Adult Noon hour lap swimming is noon-1:30 p.m.. Open to ages 18 and over, children not allowed on pool deck. Drop-in is $6.00 per person, passes may be purchased at a discounted rate at the Community Recreation Center. Proof of Santa Clara residency required.

Facility Closures

City offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, for Labor Day and Friday, September 8, in observance of Admissions Day (California was admitted as a State on September 9, 1850).
