Drug Arrest Location: El Camino Real at Railroad Avenue
Officers were dispatched to the area of El Camino Real and Railroad Avenue on the report of a male subject acting unusual. The reporting party described the individual as yelling in an aggressive manner and using a metal pipe to strike various objects.
Upon officer arrival, the male subject was detained in handcuffs. The subject displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of his person yielded a baggie with a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Racers Location: 4700 Block of Patrick Henry Drive
Officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Patrick Henry Drive on a report of a gathering of street racers. Several officers responded and witnesses approximately 70 cars flee towards local freeways. Several cars got separated from the group and found themselves on the receiving end of citations for mechanical and license violations. The drivers of the vehicles that were stopped agreed to help spread the word that unsanctioned street races are not welcome in Santa Clara.

Hit and Run Location: Woodhams Road and Homestead Road
At approximately 0245 hours, an officer responded to Woodhams Road and Homestead Road on the report of a hit and run. Based on the debris at the scene, it appeared the impact of the suspect vehicle pushed the victim vehicle approximately fifteen feet from its original parked location. The suspect vehicle was still running upon police arrival. Occupant(s) of the vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Approximately 45 minutes later, officers were advised that two suspects had been transported by an unknown party to a location hospital for treatment. An officer responded to the hospital and obtained a full confession from the driver, who sustained minor injuries. The suspect vehicle’s passenger also experienced minor injuries.
As the investigation continued, the San Jose Police Department determined the suspect vehicle matched that of a suspect vehicle for shooting at an inhabited dwelling in San Jose earlier in the evening. This investigation is on-going.

Prowler Location: 2800 Block of Homestead Road
At approximately 2321 hours, an unknown male suspect looked into the bedroom window of the victim on the 2800 block of Homestead Road. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Attempted Armed Robbery Location: Machado Park, 3360 Cabrillo Avenue
A victim met two male suspects at Machado Park to purchase an iPad. One of the two suspects brandished a set of brass knuckles and demanded money from the victim. The victim fled the area in a vehicle and no property was taken. Available units searched the area, but were not able to locate the suspects. The suspects remain outstanding for violation of attempted armed robbery.

Armed Robbery Location: 2900 Block of El Camino Real
At approximately 0755 hours, a victim was at a bank on the 2900 block of El Camino Real withdrawing money from an ATM. The victim was approached by two individuals, one male and one female. The male suspect had what the victim believed to be a handgun under his shirt and demanded the $200.00 the victim had just withdrawn, and the victim's ATM card. The suspects fled the scene.
Shortly after the robbery, the suspects used the victim's ATM card at a gas station in San Jose.
There were three other robberies (Campbell, San Jose and Sunnyvale) during the day committed by two suspects matching the description of the individuals in this case. The suspects have not been identified and remain at large.

Arson Location: 900 Block of Clyde Avenue
An officer was sent to the 900 block of Clyde Avenue investigate a report of arson. The Santa Clara Fire Department was on scene and advised a mattress was intentionally set on fire. The mattress was located in the rear parking lot of the apartment complex, near the trash dumpster. There were no injuries, no structure damage and the only thing affected by the fire was a discarded mattress.
The officer spoke with the two juvenile suspects. Juvenile Contact Reports were completed for both suspects before being released to their parents.

Discharge of Firearm Location: 2300 Block of Sutter Avenue
Multiple officers responded to the 2300 block of Sutter Avenue on the report of a discharged firearm which caused a bullet to exit the suspect apartment and enter the reporting party apartment. The suspect immediately approached the neighbor to apologize for accidently discharging the firearm.
During the initial response to the call, officers established a perimeter of the apartment complex. Officers contacted the suspect, who admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana prior to the incident. The suspect admitted to unlocking and loading the firearm before discharging it twice. One of the bullets went through the floor to the downstairs neighbor’s apartment. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
