Fall registration is open. Register online, or in person now.

Register for tennis, badminton or table tennis classes with Lifetime Activities.

Winter Registration Schedule

  • Activity guide mailed beginning November 29.
  • Resident online registration begins December 5.
  • Non-resident online registration begins December 7.
  • Walk-in registration begins December 13.

Community Outreach for Parks Projects

In September 2013 Council adopted a goal to “Enhance Community Sports and Recreational Assets.”  Since then, the City of Santa Clara has prioritized and allocated available funding for the replacement of park playgrounds and renovation of related facilities to meet accessibility, consumer product safety guidelines, and to improve the recreational play value.  Opportunities for community input on this year’s projects are available through the Parks & Recreation Commission, “Open City Hall” surveys, and planned neighborhood meetings.  Please join us for the following meeting(s):   

  • Central Park Master Plan – A vision for Central Park
    October 18, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center (969 Kiely Blvd.)
  • Montague Park Rehabilitation Project
    October 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Montague Park Building Park Building (3595 MacGregor Ln.)
  • Homeridge Park Playground & Park Rehabilitation Project
    October 21, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Homeridge Park (2985 Stevenson Street), if it rains the meeting will move to the Community Recreation Center (969 Kiely Blvd.)
  • Bowers Park Playground Rehabilitation Project
    October 26, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Teen Center (2446 Cabrillo Ave.)

Cyber – Seniors A Heartwarming, Candid and Humorous Exploration of the Digital World

Proving you’re never too old to learn something new, this documentary follows initially reluctant seniors as they discover the world of the Internet with the help of teenage mentors.  Their exploration of cyber space is catapulted to a whole new level when 89 year old Shura decides to create a YouTube tutorial. This inspires a lively competition where hidden talents and competitive spirits are revealed.


SPOOKTACULAR Children’s Halloween Party

Tuesday, October 31st, 3 pm – 6 pm
Walter E. Schmidt Youth Activity Center (YAC), 2450 Cabrillo Avenue
Ages:  pre-K through 5th grade

Come celebrate at the annual Children’s Halloween Party, sponsored by the Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Department.  Don’t miss this FREE event that includes carnival games, bounce houses, arts and crafts, entertainment, costume contest and lots of treats!  Also, visit the Fire Department, Police Department and Library booths.  Refreshments will be sold by the Youth Commission. Preschool age children through 5th grade are welcome to participate, and everyone is encouraged to come in costume.

Stage Technical Crew Members Needed

Age 8-18 years

Roberta Jones Junior Theatre is seeking people to join Technical Crew for the upcoming production of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Technical Crew members, ages 8-18, run will participate in running light cues, moving scenery, and operating followspots and stage curtains.
