FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 27, 2018 – The Santa Clara Stadium Authority and the 49ers Stadium Management Company is issuing a joint statement in response to media coverage in order to provide the full set of information regarding concessionaire services provided at Levi’s Stadium.
We are in the final stages of the evaluation and selection process of a new concessions provider for Levi’s Stadium and the Stadium Authority Board will consider a proposed contract with Levy at the Board meeting this evening. If approved, implementation and the responsible transfer of all food service workers employed by Centerplate will take place in accordance with the City’s worker retention policy.
The current concessionaire notified its employees that it would no longer be providing food and beverage services to Levi’s Stadium. However, all employees that were notified about Centerplate ceasing to operate at Levi’s Stadium will be retained by the new concessionaire, proposed to be Levy. Retaining such employees was a requirement of the bidding process and a requirement under the City of Santa Clara’s Worker Retention policy and Levy committed enthusiastically to doing so.
Both the Stadium Authority and the 49ers Management Company expect our guests to receive a best-in-class experience every time they visit Levi’s Stadium, and we know food and beverage operations are a crucial element of that vision. We look forward to the responsible transition of food and beverage services provided at the Stadium and will look forward to presenting our recommendation during the Board meeting this evening.
