7th Annual Silicon Valley BBQ Championship

Kick off your summer at this nationally-sanctioned event, co-hosted by the City of Santa Clara and the Rotary Club of Santa Clara. You will be able to enjoy a variety of BBQ-style food and samples, beer and wine, see the BBQ Pros competing for the BBQ Grand Prize on the ball field, and dance for hours to live entertainment.

Daily Swimming Pool Admission:
Proof of City of Santa Clara residency is required to qualify for the resident rate.
1-17 years * $4.00 Res., $5.00 Non-res.
18 years and over $6.00 Res., $7.00 Non-res.
Lifejacket Rental $1.25
*Children age 10 and under must be directly supervised by a person at least 18 years of age. Floatation devices are not allowed in the pool. Only Coast Guard approved lifejackets inspected by lifeguards are allowed.

Private Swim Lessons for Youth & Adult
Looking for a more individualized swim lesson? Trained swim instructors will work with you or child to build on existing swimming skills. Instructors will evaluate and work to improve on strokes, be more comfortable in the water and become a more confident swimmer.  Register for private swim lessons online.

Swim Birthday Parties
If you are looking for a different fun venue for a child’s birthday party this summer, consider the International Swim Center which is available on weekends. Parties include 90 minutes of non-exclusive swim time, followed by 30 minutes for cake, presents and celebration under a party canopy. Cost includes lifejackets and a staff liaison. San Tomas & Monroe Community Garden Update

The Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting two Community Garden Information Meetings on June 14, 2018, one at 11:00 am and one at 6:00 pm at the Santa Clara Teen Center, 2446 Cabrillo Avenue- You only need to attend one meeting. City staff will provide an update on the progress of park and garden construction and how to apply to be a Community Garden Member.  The two meetings will be identical and answer questions about eligibility, programs, fees, and garden guidelines for the Community Garden at San Tomas Expressway & Monroe Street.  Member applications and garden rules for the new Community Garden will be available at the meeting and at the Community Recreation Center, Teen Center and Senior Center beginning June 15, 2018.  Please attend either meeting or call (408) 615-3740 for more information.


SportAbilities Summer Camp

The City of Santa Clara Therapeutic Recreation Services will be hosting a Sports camp program for individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities. Participants will be introduced to team building and basic sports skills. Participants must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio or provide an attendant. “Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids” presented by Roberta Jones Junior Theatre

Roberta Jones Junior Theatre continues our 49th season with the stage adaptation of a Disney classic-- "Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids." This 30-minute musical is perfect for the whole family, and is an excellent way to introduce young children to live theatre. Performances are June 8 at 7:00 pm, June 9 and 10 at 2:00 pm, at the Mary Louise Mello Auditorium in the Community Recreation Center, 969 Kiely Blvd in Santa Clara. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children (ages 3-18), and can be purchased online at www.RJJT.org, or in person at the Community Recreation Center front desk. Ticket availability is limited, so please buy your tickets before we sell out. Roberta Jones Junior Theatre is a program of the City of Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Department. We still have a few spots left!  Join us for a summer of baseball fun! Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive and coed baseball program for youth ages 5-10. Junior Giants reaches into communities and offers youth a chance to learn the basics of baseball during the summer while also discovering the importance of essential life skills.

First Pitch Parent Meetings - Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12th

Program Schedule
5-7 years meet Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
8-10 years meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
