Notice: Due to heavy smoke from the Camp Fire in Butte County that’s affecting air quality in the Bay Area, the City of Santa Clara is restricting outdoor activity for its Parks & Recreation programs. The City will now hold these programs indoors and close the Skate Park for today, Nov. 9. Santa Clara children and youth are welcome to join recreation staff at the Youth Activities Center and Teen Center for supervised, free indoor activities afterschool today.
A Spare the Air Alert has been issued for the Bay Area through Friday because of the heavy smoke impacts, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. You can find out when a Spare the Air alert is in effect by visiting www.sparetheair.org or calling 877-4NO-BURN (466-2876).
Contact the Youth Activity Center for more information on afterschool programming: (408) 615-3760.
