Petty Theft                                       
Location:  2000 Block of El Camino Real

An officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of El Camino Real on the report of a petty theft.

A male suspect was observed by Loss Prevention personnel concealing several items into a reusable shopping bag and exiting the store without paying. The Loss Prevention officer contacted the suspect in the parking lot and he compiled with requests to return to the store. The items were valued at $668.36, and all of the property was recovered. The suspect was arrested.

Probation Violation                         
Location:  El Camino Real and San Tomas Expressway

An officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on El Camino Real near San Tomas Expressway.

The vehicle was occupied by two male subjects. A Records check revealed the driver was on searchable probation. A search of his vehicle yielded a butterfly knife. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Fraud                                                
Location: 2200 Block of The Alameda

An unknown suspect(s) sent an email to an employee on 2/19/19. The email appeared to be from the company’s president requesting a wire transfer of funds to a bank out of state. The employee completed the wire transfer.

On 2/20/19, the employee received a second email request for a wire transfer to a bank out of the country. The employee became suspicious of the request, did not process the wire transfer and contacted the company’s bank. The bank requested a police report to document the fraud.

Warrant Arrest                                 
Location:  Lafayette Street and Laurelwood Road

An officer made consensual contact with a male subject on the train tracks near Lafayette Street and Laurelwood Road.

A Records check revealed the subject had two warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Driving Under the Influence          
Location: 3500 Block of Monroe Street

Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision on the 3500 block of Monroe Street.

Upon arrival, an officer contacted the male driver. He displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. The suspect did not satisfactorily perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Robbery                                            
Location:  3100 Block of Mission College Boulevard

Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight involving a security guard with an auto burglar on the 3100 block of Mission College Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers learned a security guard confronted an unknown male suspect regarding a theft from a vehicle. The unknown suspect used force against the victim (security guard) and attempted to steal the security guard’s firearm. One round was fired from the handgun during the struggle. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer arrival and remains at large.

Robbery                                            
Location: 3600 Block of Flora Vista Avenue

A reporting party contacted Public Safety Dispatchers regarding a robbery.

A male suspect approached a victim in a parking lot on the 3600 block of Flora Vista Avenue.

The suspect re-approached the victim, demanded the victim’s car keys and made verbal threats. The suspect then threw several punches toward the victim. The victim threw the car keys in a nearby bush. The suspect found the keys and drove away in the victim’s vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Later in the evening, the Gilroy Police Department located the stolen vehicle and took the driver into custody (GPD Case Number 19-1062). The driver was identified as a juvenile. He was arrested and transported to Juvenile Hall.

Saturday, March 2, 2019

Indecent Exposure                        
Location:  Central Park, 909 Kiely Boulevard

The reporting party parked along Patricia Drive near Fatjo sports complex and took a dog for a walk.

Upon return, the reporting party witnessed an incident of indecent exposure.

The victim later called Public Safety Dispatchers to report the incident. The suspect was not located and remains at large.
