Hear about the potential for transformational development along El Camino Real
The Planning Commission, in conjunction with the El Camino Real Specific Plan Community Advisory Committee (CAC), will hold a joint Study Session on the topic of the economics of development as part of the Planning Commission meeting which gets underway at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019. The Study Session is the first item on the agenda.
A presentation about Santa Clara’s most visible and identifiable corridor, El Camino Real, will explore the feasibility of transforming ECR from a series of automobile-oriented strip malls to a tree lined, transit oriented, pedestrian friendly corridor, with a mix of residential as well as commercial uses.
The public is invited to attend the Study Session and can also participate online by submitting comments on the City’s Facebook page and YouTube channel as the meeting’s livestreamed Wednesday evening. The Planning Commission and CAC will address comments received through Facebook and YouTube as part of the Study Session’s moderated discussion.
The meeting will also air live on Santa Clara City Television (Comcast cable channel 15).
