SANTA CLARA, Calif. – This summer, the Mission Branch Library is participating in the Lunch at the Library summer meal program for local schoolchildren who are on summer break. The summer meal program provides children and teens in low-income communities with free and nutritious lunches through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. The program runs through August 2, 2019.

For many residents, this is a vital service that bridges the nutrition gap that is normally met by their school’s lunch program during the academic year. In addition to summer meals, the Lunch at the Library program provides participants with a safe and welcoming space, learning and enrichment opportunities, and an introduction to the library’s diverse services and resources.

Everyone under the age of 18 is invited to come for lunch service and lunchtime activities every Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and then stay for an engaging library program. This is the library’s Summer of Discovery, so there will be daily opportunities to get hands-on with a variety of STEAM related activities. This is an excellent opportunity to get your kids a nutritious meal and enjoy a fun afternoon event.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
