Aging Pool Infrastructure Causes Temporary Closures at International Swim Center (ISC)
The City of Santa Clara maintains eleven pools at five park sites in the City; several pools are over 50 years old. While the pools are serviced on a daily basis, as infrastructure ages, issues arise more frequently and replacement parts are difficult to source. On July 30, 2019 the boiler that maintains the pool temperature at International Swim Center (ISC) in the 50 Meter Pool and Training Pool failed.
As City staff are working on repairs and replacements, the ISC 50 Meter Pool and Training Pool will not be usable for 3 to 6 weeks. Warburton Pool, located at 2250 Royal Drive will be available for Senior Swim, Adult Lap Swim and Recreation Swim from (August 5-9.) Senior Swim and Adult Lap swim will continue at Warburton until the ISC is back on line.
At this time the Diving Well at ISC is unaffected. Santa Clara Dive Club and the Santa Clara Aquamaids will continue to host regular practices and programs in the Diving Well.
