Registration has begun for the Spring/Summer session at Roberta Jones Junior Theatre. We have many opportunities for anyone, ages 8-18, to participate in the City of Santa Clara’s youth theatre program:

Be in a Show! “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr” and “Disney’s The Lion King Jr”
Aspiring performers, ages 7-15, are invited to join the cast of “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.” Auditions are April 4th, 3:30-6:30pm. Performances will be June 9th at 7pm, June 10th and 11th at 2pm. Rehearsals are on a variety of days, Mondays-Fridays, 4:30-6:30pm, and Saturdays, 10am-12pm (schedule depends on roles played in the show). Everyone who registers for the class Springboard Production: "Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr," and attends auditions will be cast in the show. Another performance opportunity for ages 8-15 is our Summer 2017 production of “Disney’s The Lion King Jr.” This production is the project for our summer camp program Creative Artistic Theatrical Showcase (C.AT.S.). This day camp meets Mondays-Fridays, June 19th-July 28th, 10am-2:30pm. Performances are July 25th, 26th and 27th at 7pm, July 26th and 27th at 11:30am. Everyone who registers for C.A.T.S. program will be cast in the show.

Take a Class! Image Me (ages 4-5) and Imagine Me Too (ages 6-8)
Younger children who are interested in storytelling and imaginative play are welcome to join our Creative Dramatics classes: Imagine Me (ages 4-5) and Imagine Me, Too (ages 6-8). The Spring Session begins April 5th, and the Summer Session begins June 12th.

Get Technical! Technical Crew Opportunities and Tech Camp
For participants who prefer to work behind the scenes in Technical Theatre, we have three upcoming opportunities to be on Technical Crew: “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” (crew starts rehearsing March 25th), “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr,” (crew starts rehearsing June 3rd), and “Disney’s The Lion King Jr,” (crew starts rehearsing July 17th). We will have our Tech Camp at the Mission City Center for Performing Arts (MCCPA) June 12-16 from 10am-12pm. Participants in Tech Camp will learn how to operate the sound, lighting and rigging systems at the MCCPA, learn set and prop building techniques, and help build some of the set for our Summer 2017 production of “Disney’s The Lion King Jr.”

Join a Dance Camp! Study with professional dancer Dean Scott
Roberta Jones Junior Theatre is working with professional dancer/choreographer Dean Scott to offer our participants the unique opportunity of learning from an experienced professional. Dean’s many professional dance credits include his appearances as Mike in the international tour of “A Chorus Line,” and Mr. Mistoffelees in the Los Angeles production of “Cats.” These camps are offered after our C.A.T.S program, from 3:00-5:30pm. Dance Camps are an excellent supplement to C.A.T.S. Our staff will be available to supervise participants between C.A.T.S. and Dance Camps.
