Registration, Birthday Parties, Easter Egg Hunt, Projects and More!

Spring/Summer Registration Information


 "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer."

April 1, 7, & 8 at 7:00 PM and April 2 & 9 at 2:00 PM
Tickets are $5 for children (ages 3-18), $10 for adults.
Mission City Center for Performing Arts, 3250 Monroe Street,
at the corner of Calabazas, at Wilcox High School in Santa Clara

This musical adaptation of the classic Mark Twain novel features a Book by Ken Ludwig, with Music & Lyrics by Don Schlitz. Audiences of all ages will be thrilled as the famous adventures of Tom, Huck, Becky and their friends are brought to life in this spectacular live production. Tickets can be bought online at www.RJJT.org, or in person at the Community Recreation Center, 969 Kiely Blvd.


 Adventures in Learning Open House

The Parks and Recreation Department offers Adventures in Learning programs for both 3 and 4 year olds. Two qualified instructors per class provide a student-teacher ratio of 12:1. Children must be the correct age by September 1, 2017, to attend these programs. The Open House is a great opportunity for you and your child to come see the classrooms, meet the teachers, and get your questions answered.

  • 3 year old program: Westwood Oaks, 460 La Herran Drive, Tuesday, April 25, 5:30-6:30 pm
  • 4 year old program: Community Recreation Center, 969 Kiely Boulevard, Monday, April 24, 5:30-6:30 pm

Adventures in Learning consists of circle time, brain and body warm-ups, craft, songs, stories, indoor and outdoor play, and much more. Weekly themes provide the basis of learning and helping children feel more comfortable in a school setting.


Easter Egg Hunt

Up to 8 years old
Central Park, Saturday, April 15

On your mark... get set... go, to the 42nd annual Easter Egg Hunt in Central Park. Pre-hunt activities and a “NEW” egg hunt maze for ages 2 & under and individuals with special needs will begin at 9:30 am in the Meadow area. The egg hunt for ages 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8 will take place promptly at 10:00 am on the ball field. For a nominal fee, families will have the opportunity to purchase Easter baskets and participate in face painting by the Roberta Jones Junior Theatre. Yummy morning snacks will also be for sale at the concessions booth. This event will take place rain or shine. Parking is limited. This popular event is sponsored by the Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Department, along with local community groups.


EASTER-POOL-OOZA

Ages 4-11
International Swim Center
Saturday, April 15
Pre-registration is required. Registration is available online or in-person at Recreation Facilities

Bring your bathing suits and take part in an aquatic Easter Egg Hunt at the International Swim Center. Heats will take place allowing children to grab plastic eggs in the 25-yard training pool. Prizes will be given at the end of each heat. Participants may choose to wear a life jacket. Parents must accompany children in the water for the 3-4 age group. There will be a Grand Prize drawing at the end of the last heat for a 2-week summer swim lesson pass at Warburton or Montague Pool. Participants and their immediate family may swim at the International Swim Center until 3:00 pm, once their heat is completed.


Gymnastics Birthday Parties Now Available

Register online or in-person at the Community Recreation Center
Registration must take place at least 1 week in advance of the event

Give your child a wonderful, active and memorable birthday party at the City of Santa Clara Gymnastics Center!
Our fantastic parties include an exciting hour of fully organized activities with two to three trained party instructors. Activities can include instruction, trampoline, relay races, obstacle courses, and fitness fun!
Following your activity hour, we provide the celebration area for your food, drinks, and happy birthday singing!
