Want to Know What Happens on the Other End of a 9-1-1 Call?
The Santa Clara Police Department is holding an open house on May 17 from 6:30-8:00pm at the Police Building for anyone interested in learning more about the emergency call dispatching process and potentially working as a Public Safety Dispatcher.
The Communications Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and its 21 employees were responsible for answering more than 170,000 telephone calls in 2016. Public Safety Dispatchers maintained efficient radio contact with police, fire and medical responders for more than 89,000 calls for service last year.
Open house attendees will get to tour the Communications Center, participate in a question and answer session with communications personnel and learn about job opportunities in law enforcement.
Pre-registration is required. To register, call (408)615-4892 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
