Santa Clara Launches Minimum Wage Outreach Meetings & Survey!
Proposal to Update Minimum Wage Ordinance
Community Outreach Meetings & Survey
The City of Santa Clara is seeking feedback from the business community for City Council's proposed update to the City's minimum wage ordinance in order to be consistent with neighboring cities and to reach $15 per hour by 2019.
Santa Clara’s current local minimum wage went into effect on January 1, 2016, with an initial hourly rate of $11.00 per hour and was increased on January 1, 2017 to $11.10. California has increased its minimum wage to reach $15 per hour by 2022 and seven of the 15 cities in Santa Clara County have adopted minimum wage increases to reach at least $15 per hour by 2019.
We invite you to share your input at one of our community meetings hosted to share regional data and solicit input from the Santa Clara community, or complete the short survey at http://santaclaraca.gov/government/open-city-hall.
