Pharmaceutical Disposal Program
The Pharmaceutical Disposal Program is designed to help City of Santa Clara citizens safely dispose of their unused, and/or expired medications. This program not only prevents the diversion, misuse and abuse of such medications, but also keeps these potential hazardous materials from entering our environment and waterways.
Santa Clara residents can drop off pharmaceuticals at the Police Building (601 El Camino Real) for disposal by appointment only. Appointments are available Monday – Friday, from 8:00am-4:00pm excluding weekends and holidays. To schedule an appointment, call (408) 615-4727.
Accepted products include prescription, nonprescription (over the counter), brand name and generic drugs. No syringes, lancets, biological products, medical devices, non-prescription grooming products, insect repellant, cleaning products, empty pill containers, or batteries are accepted.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the Santa Clara Police Department Property and Evidence Unit at (408) 615-4727.
