Raymond G. Gamma Dog Park Temporary Closure
The construction of the new Reed & Grant Street Sports Park will occur from Monday August 13, 2018 until July 31, 2019.
As previously communicated to stakeholders, for public safety, the City of Santa Clara’s Raymond G. Gamma Dog Park will be closed from August –October 2018, or until initial project work can be completed. A relocated temporary entrance to the dog park will be provided once feasible, and open when safe. The Parks & Recreation Department will keep the community informed through information posted on site, on the City webpage, through email to identified user groups, and the Dog Park Interest List.
The reason for the temporary closure is due to a large portion of the dog park being directly in the construction zone (gravel parking lot, entrance to the dog park, and a portion of the small dog area). In addition, during construction, Reed & Grant Streets will be impacted by street utility trenching and underground work, and the Project site will be affected by grading, above ground utility work, and preparation for the new dog park restroom and new paved parking lot.
For more information please call 408-615-2260 or email email@example.com.

The Raymond G. Gamma Dog Park is a 1.5 acre park that is the only city park that allows dogs to run off-leash. All other city parks require owners to have their dogs on a six foot leash at all times.
Separate fenced areas are provided at the park for large and small dogs (small dogs are a maximum of 18" in height at the shoulder) with each area providing grassy mounds, water, benches, trees, plastic bags, garbage cans and a shade structure. Parking areas and a portable restroom are included in the park amenities. Additional park rules and regulations are posted at the park.
Hours of operation are sunrise to sunset daily with the park closed on Thursdays for maintenance. For a recorded message of park hours, call (408) 615-3144. This recording is updated whenever the dog park is closed due to inclement weather or unexpected maintenance.
