The 2023 State of the City took place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Mission City Center for Performing Arts (located at Wilcox High School) at 3250 Monroe Street, Santa Clara.

The event included the State of the City address from Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor, local community group performances, and the presentation of the Citywide and Council District Community Awards. 

Community performances by:

  • Filarmonica Uniao Portuguesa de Santa Clara
  • Korean Traditional Wedding Lantern Dance and the Flower Crown Dance performed by Neha Israni, Sameer Israni, Claire J Lee, Ilhyun Kim
  • Traditional Indian Dance by Laasya Pandravada

 

Citywide Community Award Presented by Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor to Diana Ding 

 

District 1 Community Award - Presented by Councilmember Kathy Watanabe to the Agnew's Museum docents - Kathleen Lee, the late Pat Hannum, the late Norm Holder and his wife Judy, Gretchen and Jim Hill, Jeff Mardesich, and Angela Vrbanac-Libby

 

District 2 Community Award - Presented by Councilmember Raj Chahal to John Brooks 

 

District 3 Community Award - Presented by Councilmember Karen Hardy to Todd and Shanti Dickson 

 

District 4 Community Award - Presented by Vice Mayor Kevin Park to Killarney Farms Swim Center - Kelly and Jonathan Ernst, Spencer Davis, Carol Bryson

 

District 5 Community Award - Presented by Councilmember Suds Jain to Jonathon Evans

 

District 6 Community Award - Presented by Councilmember Anthony Becker to Wesley Mukoyama
