Quality, Tradition, and Service are more
than words in the city of Santa Clara. They are the reasons
that our citizens prosper, and why businesses choose to locate
and expand in our City.
The City of Santa Clara, at the center of the Silicon Valley,
is in a strategic regional location convenient to freeways,
airports, railroads, expressways, light rail and other public
transportation. |
 |
| |
With 19.3 square miles of tree-lined
neighborhoods and thriving commercial/ industrial centers,
it is an ideal location for new, relocating, or expanding businesses.
Santa Clara has a long tradition of quality public services and a well-maintained
infrastructure. The City has owned and operated its own electric, water and sewer
utilities for over a century. Lower utility rates and high standards of service
have encouraged the relocation and growth of businesses in our community. |
| |
| The City's financial stability is
further encouragement to local businesses. Low business taxes,
moderate real estate prices (compared to other jurisdictions
within the Bay Area) and low crime rates are also key components
to economic prosperity. Santa Clara's fire defenses and physical
conditions continue to receive the highest rating in Santa
Clara County (Class 2 fire protection). This very high standard
benefits the community through lower fire insurance premiums
for commercial businesses and industry. The community provides
significant expenditures for education. Excellent residential
areas, fitting all types of family budget needs, are located
in and around this community. A program assisting low and moderate
income "first-time home buyers" is available through
the City's Redevelopment Agency. |

Santa Clara amenities include an award-winning Convention
Center, Community Recreation Center, International Swim
Center, Youth Activity Center, Senior Center,
abundant
retail shopping, restaurants, and medical facilities.
Dozens of parks, playgrounnds, special use facilities (like a Skate Park and a Youth Soccer Park), the championship Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club, a 40 acre open space preserve, and two public cemeteries (one active and one historical), provide about 450 acres of open space.
|
 |
The City is home to Santa
Clara University, other outstanding schools, the nationally
recognized 100-acre Paramount's
Great America Theme Park, the George F. Haines International Swim Center, Triton
Museum of Art, and the 49ers Football Training Center (the Marie P. DeBartolo Sports Centre). Santa Clara is also home to internationally known, world champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps.
