Street sweeping of residential streets is generally performed at least every other week the day after your garbage collection day. Please park your car(s) off the street on these days so the streets can be swept more efficiently.

Want a bicycle route map for the City? Contact the Traffic Engineering Division at 615-3000, or stop by City Hall. Looking for a job? The City maintains an Employment Opportunities Hotline, a 24 hour recording of current employment opportunities with the City of Santa Clara. Call 615-5627. Some of these Employment Opportunities can also be found online. The City’s Human Resources Department also keeps fliers from other agencies advertising employment opportunities. NOVA is a non-profit community agency which offers services to job seekers. It was formed in 1983 by a consortium of six Northern Santa Clara County cities (Santa Clara among them) in response to Federal legislation, specifically the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). Located in Sunnyvale, NOVA offers a variety of services for Santa Clara County job seekers. These services are offered free to individuals eligible under the JTPA. There are also a number of programs specifically targeted to dislocated workers, economically disadvantaged individuals, youth, seniors, veterans, and disabled individuals. In addition, the City has nine volunteer Board and Commissions. Citizens appointed to these commissions by the City Council generally serve four year terms, and advise Council on matters related to their commissions. The City Board and Commissions are the Board of Library Trustees, the Civil Service Commission, the Cultural Advisory Commission, the Historical & Landmarks Commission, the International Exchange Commission, the Parks & Recreation Commission, the Planning Commission, the Senior Advisory Commission, and the Youth Commission. Call the City Clerk’s Office, at 615-2220, if you are interested in more information, or would like to be placed on a mailing list to be advised of future commission openings.

If you receive cable television, the City broadcasts municipal announcements on Channel 15. Tune in for information on upcoming City events, public hearings, and more. Scheduled City Council meetings are broadcast live Tuesdays at 7 p.m., and rebroadcast Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. A meeting schedule is posted on this website. Missed a meeting? In December each year, the City distributes an Annual Report/City Calendar to each address in the City. The calendar contains information on public meetings, the Annual Clean-Up Campaign, an exhaustive list of City department telephone numbers and email addresses, and more. For a copy, call 615-2210.
