Foreclosures have hit hard in the California real estate market. A large percentage of California cities and counties are designated as areas with the greatest need for foreclosure prevention outreach. The Consumer Credit Counseling Services, as part of their home ownership preservation outreach, has scheduled free foreclosure prevention workshops for homeowners who are delinquent on their mortgages or concerned about their ability to make their payments.
In addition, since there are many predatory and fraudulent foreclosure scams occurring, the Counseling Credit Services wants to be sure that Santa Clara County residents know where to go for help with a legitimate, HUD approved, non-profit. The agency can also assist with topics such as housing preservation, pre-purchase, reverse mortgage, credit and debt, bankruptcy certificates. For more information visit www.gotdebt.org. To register for the workshop, call 1-800-540-2227.
