A wooden milepost sign for Milepost 60 on the former Southern Pacific line between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz is among several artifacts added to the museum at the Santa Clara Depot in the last quarter of 2001. The sign was loaned to the SBHRS by the Los Gatos Museum.
Milepost 60 for the SP was located alongside the rails near the present site of Lexington Reservoir in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and the location today is inundated by reservoir waters. |
| In addition to the signpost, a battery powered hand lantern, manufactured by Gensey, was donated by SBHRS member Larry Helling, while another battery powered lantern manufactured by Snapit was purchased by the SBHRS. Several other items were donated by Bob Pressley, including a train order lamp, a Radco Model 22 ground throw switch mechanism, and an 18-inch diameter metal disk in Daylight colors lettered for Pacific Electric Lines/Rail Motor Coach. |
