At the City Council meeting of February 23, 2016, City Council declared a vacancy in City Council Seat No. 6 (for the unexpired term of the former incumbent, November 2016), set the application deadline to Friday, March 4, 2016 at 12:00 pm and set the interview date to Monday, March 7, 2016 at 7:00 pm.  The Oath of Office will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 7:00 pm.

Qualifications and Schedule 

Applicants must be Santa Clara residents and qualified registered electors of the City.  Meetings are generally held at least two times per month on Tuesdays at City Hall in the Council Chambers, 1500 Warburton Avenue.  A schedule of regular Council and Authorities Concurrent meetings for 2016 can be found here.

Application and Interview Process 

To apply, interested parties must submit an application to the City Clerk's Office by 12:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2016.  In addition to the application, interested parties may also include a cover letter, resume or other related materials.  The application can be emailed to the City Clerk at clerk@santaclaraca.gov, delivered by hand or mailed to City Clerk’s Office at 1500 Warburton Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95050.  At the conclusion of the application period, the submittals are forwarded to the City Council in the regular agenda packets for public review.  The City Council will interview all applicants and make a potential appointment to the City Council in the City Hall Council Chambers on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 7:00 pm.
