The City Council selected the Core Companies as the developer for the proposed affordable senior housing project at the former Bay Area Research and Extension Center (BAREC) site located at 90 North Winchester Boulevard on September 29, 2015.  The City of Santa Clara Housing Authority entered into an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with Core Affordable Housing, LLC on April 21, 2016.  In late September, the Governor signed into law Senate Bill 680. On September 22, 2015, the City Council reviewed the Request for Proposals (RFP) evaluation results for the proposed Affordable Senior Housing Project at the former Bay Area Research and Extension Center (BAREC) site located at 90 North Winchester Boulevard.  At that meeting the City Council continued the matter to the City Council meeting of September 29, 2015, to consider selection of a developer for the project.  The Agenda Reports can be accessed via the links below:

The city held a pre-proposal meeting on Friday, March 13 which provided a forum for information regarding this RFP. The BAREC FAQ handout from this meeting was updated on Wednesday, April 15 and can be found here.

The Draft EIR, Final EIR and Traffic Study may be reviewed at the Planning Department counter during normal city business hours.
