On December 6, 2016 the Housing Authority entered into an Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreement (ENA) with Sobrato Organization, LLC, for the development of approximately 2.5 acres of Housing Authority owned land at the corner of San Tomas Expressway and Monroe Street. The property was acquired with former Redevelopment Agency funds in 2005 that requires the site to be developed to support affordable housing within the City of Santa Clara. The development of the property is in the initial planning stage and there will be community meetings in the near future for community input. No specific plans have been approved for the project. The initial proposal requires significant analysis, planning and community outreach which are all part of the process.
