The City has embarked on an innovative community engagement process in partnership with Project for Public Spaces to enable the community to have a greater role in the design and development, both private and public, for the overall benefit to the City. 

In parallel, the City is also holding several educational workshops, including land use policy issues and an update on the General Plan.  

Upcoming Events:

April 20 at 6:30 PM, Santa Clara City Hall Council Chambers: (Re)Visioning our Downtown – a community visioning workshop for the revitalization of Santa Clara’s historic downtown area, led by Urban Field Studio  

April 27 at 6:30 PM, Triton Museum: Art and the Art of Placemaking – a panel discussion featuring local artists and placemaking practitioners on the use of art to activate community spaces

May 4, 7:30-9:00 PM, City of Santa Clara Council Chambers – “Placemaking with Retail”; a panel discussion on the use of retail in new development to activate a place 

May 11, 6:30-8:00 PM, City of Santa Clara Council Chambers – “Placemaking New Neighborhoods” a panel discussion on how new housing can meet future needs and shape our community

May 15, 6:30-8:30 PM, Senior Center – “The Power of 10”; a citywide visioning workshop led by the Project for Public Spaces

May 18, 6:30-8:00 PM, Location: TBD, Placemaking in Santa Clara;
