The Santa Clara Fire Department Hazardous Materials Division maintains records and conducts inspections of hazardous waste generators within the City of Santa Clara. Businesses that generate hazardous waste are required to submit a "Hazardous Waste Generator Permit Application" when they move into the city or begin generating hazardous waste. (A properly filled out and submitted Hazardous Waste Materials Business Plan may be used in lieu of the Hazardous Waste Generator Permit Application.) This application (PDF) may be obtained online or picked up at our office at 1675 Lincoln Street in Santa Clara. It may also be mailed to you through the U.S. Postal Service. send an email to ask that the form be mailed; provide your complete mailing address. The Hazardous Materials Division charges hazardous waste generators an annual fee based on the quantity and/or type of waste generated.
