  • 11:00 AM - Inspiring and Exciting Technology careers:  Let's Explore Video Games, Computers and Virtual Reality

Do you love technology? Do you like to take things apart and figure out how they work? Would you like to eventually work for a technology company? Having worked for some of the top technology companies in the world, Leslie Pirritano, Your Best Friend at AMD, will explore a variety of technology careers, including those in the video game industry, that you can aspire to pursue one day − everything from engineering, to finance to marketing. She will delve deeper and explore two of her current passions, Virtual Reality and Video Gaming. She will explore how VR is changing the way video games and movies are experienced, and how VR has the potential to dramatically change the way kids learn in the classroom and interact with people and the world around them.

  • 12:00 PM - Women in Science
Women are under-represented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers. There are many reasons for this, but we have four women who are here to talk about their successes in these male-dominated fields and encourage girls to pursue these careers.

  • 1:00 PM - Mission: Mars - Steps Toward the First Human Journey to the Red Planet
Planetary Scientist Pascal Lee talks about how the first human mission to Mars will be humanity’s greatest
adventure in space exploration in the 21st century. As with all expeditions, its success will depend on planning. The first steps are already under way, as we achieve longer spaceflight missions, plan for deep space journeys, and work in extreme environments on Earth viewed as Mars “analogs”.
