The Building Inspection Division is located at 1500 Warburton Ave. The Division administers City and State regulations for the design, construction and use and occupancy of all buildings under its jurisdiction in the City of Santa Clara. The Division provides the following services:

Permit Services issues building permits and checks building plans to enforce local and State laws related to building construction, maintenance, use, repair and rehabilitation. This includes enforcement of state mandated energy conservation, disabled access, and housing laws.

Building Inspection Services provides inspections after a building permit has been issued for building construction to ensure compliance with approved plans. Inspection services are provided for new residential, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as building additions, remodels, repairs and changes in use.
