Announcement and call for applicants to the
Salary Setting Commission pursuant to Charter Section 702
Pursuant to Charter Section 702, the Civil Service Commission is announcing and calling for applicants for the City of Santa Clara Salary Setting Commission, which is charged with setting the compensation for the Mayor and Council. The elected City Clerk was recently added to the purview of the Salary Setting Commission by the adoption of Ordinance No. 1983. At the City Council meeting of September 18, 2018, Council approved the introduction of an Ordinance to add the elected Police Chief’s compensation to the Salary Setting Commission’s review.
- Applications are due to the City Clerk's Office by 5:00pm, October 18, 2018 and must include the following:
- Two forms of Proof of Residency: a driver's license, identification, utility bill or similar.
- Signed original of the Post Service Limitation Acknowledgement (page 4 of application packet).
- Interviews will be conducted at the October 25, 2018, Civil Service Commission meeting at 6:00pm.
Included in the Application Packet is the: 1) Application; 2) Post Service Limitation Acknowledgment; and 3) 9/17/18 and 9/24/18 Reports to Civil Service Commission. For details and eligibility requirements, please review the reports attached to the back of the Application Packet.
