Seeking Residents to Serve

Serving on a commission is an excellent way to give back to the community. Members have the opportunity to serve their fellow citizens and provide guidance and recommendations on specific issues for Council consideration. They contribute to the public process and help make a positive impact in the community.

Commissioners have opportunities to socialize, network, build their professional skillset and resume. They will sometimes have the opportunity to attend, participate, or organize special events. In some instances, appointed commissioners have opportunities to attend state or national conferences. If you are interested, we recommend reading the applicant guide, looking at the upcoming available positions, attending meetings, and then applying.

Below is a graph listing all the upcoming openings for the City's board & commissions.  Please fill out a Board & Commission Interest Form below to receive information on upcoming positions. Currently, there is one opening on the Historical and Landmarks Commission for the partial term ending June 30, 2016. For more information, click here.
