Licensing and Referrals
Community Child Care Council
Community Child Care Council (4C's) of Santa Clara County serves child care professionals with information on topics necessary to succeed, including:
- Workshops for professional development on topics such as business-startup, taxes and bookkeeping, nutrition, child development, and nutrition
- Licensing information, including an easy to follow "license path" of the steps to become licensed.
- A job bank
Most importantly, through the 4 C's you can list your licensed child care home or center in the Santa Clara County Resource and Referral database, which is accessed by parents throughout Santa Clara County looking for daycare. Get started by downloading the "FCC New Provider Survey."
Both family child care homes and child care centers must be licensed by the State of California. You can find information on "Becoming a Licensed Child Care Provider" from the California Department of Social Services. Child care homes that care for more than 8 children require approval from the Santa Clara Fire Department. For more information, please call (408) 615-4970.
