Volunteer Opportunities

After School Program

Volunteer opportunities are available at the Youth Activity Center during the school year, August thru May, to:

• assist in the homework room or computer lab
• set-up or clean-up for special activities
• assist in supervision of participants
• assist in the backpack storage area

Volunteers must be SCUSD high school students or be a Santa Clara resident in high school. Students need to have completed their freshman year in high school. Appointments for prospective volunteers are scheduled on Wednesday afternoons.  Please call the YAC at (408) 615-3760 to schedule an appointment.

Children's Halloween Party

Volunteers help with activities during the party, as well as set up and clean up before and after the event. Applications are available about a month before the event and must be submitted to the Walter E. Schmidt Youth Activity Center (YAC).  For more information, call the YAC at (408) 615-3760.

Leader in Training Experience (LITE)

The summer LITE program is for 14-16 year olds who want to volunteer in the Santa Clara Parks and Recreation summer programs. LITE recruitment begins in the Spring.
