Climate Action Plan
On December 3, 2013, the City Council approved the community-wide Climate Action Plan (CAP) for the City of Santa Clara. The CAP is an implementation mechanism of the City’s General Plan, adopted in 2010, and provides goals, policies, and programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, address climate change adaptation, and locally support the goals of Assembly Bill (AB) 32 and Senate Bill (SB) 375.
The CAP defines the City’s path towards creating a more sustainable, healthy, and livable community. The strategies outlined in this Plan will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and provide energy, fuel, and monetary savings while improving quality of life for the Santa Clara community.
