Mission
Perform cost effective repair and maintenance procedures which will ensure that City-owned buildings remain safe, attractive and energy efficient in the service of the citizens and employees of the City of Santa Clara.

Building maintenance performs repairs, modifications, regular maintenance and equipment replacement or upgrades on about seven hundred thousand square feet (700,000+ sf) of City buildings which include:

Central Park Library - 85,000 sf
City Hall - 75,000 sf
Community Recreation Center - 30,000 sf |
Fire stations - 90,000 sf
Police stations - 55,000 sf
Senior Center - 45,000+ sf |
Building Maintenance also has the responsibility to manage Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for the repair and/or modification of City buildings and several historical structures.
Cost effective repairs and maintenance includes the standardization of easy-to-acquire parts and equipment which require the least amount of special knowledge.
