The Great American Songbook
The Santa Clara Chorale brings back its popular Sounds of the Stage program on Friday, March 15, a celebration of music written for the musical theater and opera stage. This year it features the masters of the Great American Songbook who filled Broadway’s theaters with hundreds of hits, such as Jerome Kern, Rogers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Leonard Bernstein. Guest Conductor is Dr. Lesley Leighton of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Performance time is 8 p.m. at Mission Santa Clara.
