What is Amateur Radio?
Eric Norris, WD6DB, will give you a taste of the amazing diversity of the "ham" radio hobby! You can communicate using computers in a variety of ways over the air, as well as by the traditional methods of using a mocrophone or even a telegraph key. You can bounce radio signals off the moon or meteor trails, find hidden transmitters (fox hunts), join your local emergency preparedness group, or just talk to family or other hams around the world.
Come back on Saturday, June 22 from 11am-3pm and see how an Amateur Radio Field Day works! Eric will be running a station behind the library.
