Location: 1900 Block of Homestead Road
Officers responded to a jewelry business as a result of an alarm from a glass break. The business was burglarized and the suspects fled the scene. Evidence from the crime scene led Officers to two suspects with a San Jose address. During the search, Officers located the victim’s property. Suspect #1 was arrested for possession of stolen property, being under the influence and violation of probation. Suspect #2 was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Both individuals were transported to the County jail.

Location: 3208 El Camino Real
Officers responded to the Motel Six, at 3208 El Camino Real, on the report of a man with a gun. An investigation revealed a woman had escaped after being kidnapped. The suspect was arrested and transported to the County Jail for Human Trafficking charges.

Hit and Run
Location: 3700 Block of Miramar Way
Officers responded to an apartment complex on the 3700 block of Miramar Way on the report of a hit and run collision into a structure. The gas main to the apartment complex had been severed as a result of the accident. Officers evacuated the residents and the Santa Clara Fire Department arrived to shut off the natural gas. The suspect was located at his place of business and he was interviewed by the Traffic Investigations Unit.

Location: 2200 Mission College Boulevard
A black male approached a female victim on the third floor of a parking garage at 2200 Mission College Boulevard. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and stole her bag containing her laptop, iPhone, wallet and various personal items. Officers searched the area, however the suspect was not located.

Location: 2300 Block of Avenida De Guadalupe
Dispatch received a call alerting SCPD of several people using drugs in the garage of a home on the 2300 block of Avenida De Guadalupe. Officers made contact with four occupants of the home. Female subject #1 was on active searchable probation with search and seizure. She was arrested for possession of stolen property and making fraudulent purchases with a stolen credit card. Female subject #2 was on searchable probation. She was arrested for possession of stolen property (mail). Female subject #3 had a no bail warrant and was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Male subject #4 was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Location: 100 Block of Buckingham Drive
An Officer located an unoccupied car with the engine running. A Records check revealed the vehicle was stolen from San Jose. The suspect was not located.

Thursday, January 16, 2014
Location: Third Street and Cheeney Street
At 0226 hours, Officers were dispatched to Third Street and Cheeney Street on the report of a young child, approximately four years old, standing on the sidewalk. Officers searched the area for the child’s parents with no results. The child was transported to Kaiser Hospital for a medical evaluation. A state-wide bulletin was issued regarding the found child and Child Protective Services took custody of the child.

UPDATE: Dispatchers received a phone call at 1105 hours on Friday, January 17 from a resident on Lenox Place to report a missing child. Officers were able to identify the description of the child and reunite him with his family.

Location: 3201 Mission College Boulevard
TJ Max store security witnessed a burglary with two female suspects removing security sensors from purses before fleeing the store and getting into their vehicle. Store security was unable to arrest the suspects and contacted Dispatchers. An Officer located the suspects in an adjacent business parking lot, recovered the property and took the suspects into custody. The suspects were transported to the County jail.

NOTE: Approximately 1,500-2,000 bicyclists participated in a 18.5 mile ride hosted by San Jose Bike Party. One of the “re-group” points took place in the Lucky’s parking lot (234 Saratoga Avenue) in Santa Clara. There were no arrests or citations.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: El Camino Real at Scott Boulevard
At 0234 hours, Officers heard a vehicle collision in the area of El Camino Real and Scott Boulevard. Upon arrival, Officers discovered a major injury collision involving two vehicles. Two victims, as well as the suspect, were transported to the hospital for significant injuries. The suspect was driving on a suspended license, had two prior DUI convictions and was under the influence at the time of this accident. He was placed under arrest and booked into County jail pending medical release.
