Weapons Arrest
3200 Block of El Camino Real
An Officer stopped a vehicle in the Motel 6 parking lot on the 3200 block of El Camino Real. A records check revealed the male suspect was driving on a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant. A search of his vehicle yielded a loaded shotgun in a duffle bag, a PG&E employee badge stolen during an auto burglary in San Jose (SJPD Case #2013131473210) and thousands of credit card receipts with credit card numbers and expiration dates. The suspect was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Vehicle Theft
1500 Block of Warburton Avenue
An Officer spotted a stolen vehicle in the rear parking lot of the Triton Museum of Art. The female suspect was asleep inside the vehicle. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the County jail.

Vehicle Pursuit
2400 Block of Agnew Road
An Officer spotted and confirmed the license plate of a vehicle involved in a vehicle pursuit on December 13th (Case Number: 13-12456). After attempting to stop the vehicle, the suspect’s vehicle intentionally rammed the patrol car. The male suspect led police on a pursuit before ramming a second patrol vehicle. The pursuit ended in a Great America employee parking lot, located on Agnew Road.

A records check revealed the suspect had multiple outstanding felony warrants. A large amount of cash was located in the suspect’s pocket. During a search of his vehicle, Officers located a controlled substance, pills and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked into County jail after being treated at a location hospital.

Warrant Arrest
1200 Block of Campbell Avenue
Dispatch received a call from Santa Clara University Security on the report of two trespassers on school housing property. SCU Security was able to detain suspect #1 and advised SCPD Officer suspect #2 had fled. Suspect #1 displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant, trespassing, possession of tools with the intent of breaking and entering and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was transported to the County jail. Suspect #2 remains at large.

Vehicle Theft
2900 Block of Butte Street
An Officer was near the area of El Camino Real and Bowers Avenue when he ran a DMV license plate check on a vehicle. Dispatch responded by indicating the vehicle had been reported stolen. The Officer initiated a traffic stop on the 2900 block of Butte Street.

A Records check revealed the male driver was on two active grants of probation. He displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The female passenger was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle yielded multiple counterfeit $5, $20 and $50 bills and a high definition printer. Both individuals were arrested and transported to the County jail.

Warrant Arrest
Lafayette Street and Highway 237
An Officer stopped a male driver for speeding on Lafayette Street and Highway 237. During the traffic stop, the Officer was advised by Records that the suspect had an outstanding $50,000 felony warrant. The suspect was arrested without incident and transported to the County jail.

Between 1200-1500 hours, an unknown suspect(s) burglarized a home on the 1300 block of Cabrillo Avenue. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Warrant Arrest
Great America Parkway and Highway 237
An Officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop for suspended registration. A Records check indicated the male suspect had a misdemeanor warrant with $500,000 bail. The suspect was arrested and transported to the County jail.

5000 Block of Avenida De Lago
Officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Avenida De Lago to provide support services to the Santa Clara Fire Department as they extinguished a residential fire. The 3-alarm fire ultimately destroyed the 2 story residence. One of the residents was injured and the other two escaped without injuries.

FOLLOW-UP - Preliminary investigations between the Police and Fire Departments indicate the injured resident may have been responsible for setting the fire. As a result, Villa Jean Traspe Cabanayan has been arrested and is being treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Suspicious Circumstances
Machado Park, 3360 Cabrillo Avenue
Officers were dispatched to Machado Park for two suspicious handmade objects, about the size of a coconut and made of cement/plaster, near the base of a tree. One object had a live shotgun shell protruding from it and the other had some sort of firework protruding. The devices also had some screws attached and other metallic objects. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad examined and destroyed the objects. No suspects were identified. Anyone with information on this suspicious circumstance is urged to call the Santa Clara Police Department at 408-615-4700.

Use of Force
2400 Block of De La Cruz Boulevard
An Officer was dispatched on the report of a woman running around half naked and yelling at pedestrians on the 2400 block of De La Cruz Boulevard. Upon contact, the suspect attempted to strike the Officer and attempted to flee. A brief struggle ensued and the suspect threatened the Officer claiming she had a blade and was going to use it on the Officer. The suspect was taken into custody for resisting an Officer, brandishing a weapon, battery on a Peace Officer and under the influence of a controlled substance. During a search, a 3 inch razor blade was recovered. The suspect was transported to the County jail. Time: 1351
