The City of Santa Clara has a Council/Manager form of government. This means that the Mayor and City Council make policy decisions, and the staff, led by the City Manager, implements these decisions.
The City Council has adopted goals for 2009-2011 with a priority to focus on successful completion of existing City projects, postpone new City projects and proposals, and operate within Council adopted budget principles and priorities, with the goal of guiding the City successfully through the economic downturn.
The City Council generally holds meetings at least two times per month on Tuesdays at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall in the Council Chambers, 1500 Warburton Avenue. Contact the City Clerk's Office for a schedule of meetings. In order to provide maximum citizen access, current agendas and minutes are published online and can also be viewed at either City library beginning Saturday before the Tuesday meetings, or at the City Clerk's office on weekdays.
