Driving Under the Influence
Location:
1840 Benton Street
Officers were dispatched to an accident in front of Wilson Adult Education Center at 1840 Benton Street. The male suspect hit a tree owned by the City of Santa Clara. It was determined he was driving with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Sex Registrant
Location:
2200 Block of The Alameda
The Communications Dispatch Center received a call regarding a male subject causing a disturbance in front of a motel on the 2200 block of The Alameda. Upon arrival, an officer located the subject lying on the ground in front of the motel office. It was determined the subject was under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself. A Records check revealed the subject was in violation of his obligation as a transient registered sex offender to register every 30 days. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Weapon
Location:
500 El Camino Real
Officers stopped a male suspect after he re-entered Santa Clara University after being told to leave and not return. Officers prevented him from jumping a fence from the secured parking lot into a secured fenced area of the campus reserved for a special event. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A pat-search produced a folding knife concealed under his shirt. This arrest occurred while school was in session, students were on campus and a special event was underway.

Assault
Location:
2635 Homestead Road
Officers were dispatched to the Central Park Library, located at 2635 Homestead Road, on the report of two female subjects arguing and chasing each other inside the library. A library employee witnessed suspect #1 assault suspect #2.

The parties were contacted outside the library’s main entrance. A Records check revealed suspect #1 had a warrant for her arrest. As an officer removed a pair of handcuffs from his duty belt to place her under arrest she became enraged, stood up and ran eastbound. Two officers intercepted her where the lawn meets the concrete walkway. The suspect continued to struggle and refused commands from the officers. After several attempts, the suspect was eventually taken into custody via multiple officers and transported to the County jail.

An officer was injured during the arrest, which required medical transport and treatment.

Theft
Location:
4200 Great America Parkway
An unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim's locked rental vehicle at IHOP Restaurant located at 4200 Great America Parkway and stole personal items. The suspect remains at large.

Drug Possession
Location:
1100 Block of Scott Boulevard
A search warrant was served on the 1100 block of Scott Boulevard by SCPD’s Special Response Team. Officers found numerous stolen items including mail, credit card applications and bank information. Controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were also seized. Five suspects were arrested and transported to County Jail.

SCPD’s Nuisance Suppression Unit responded for an administrative investigation. Power to the residence was cut due to non-payment. City of Santa Clara Building Inspection “red tagged” the property indicating it was unsafe and uninhabitable. The home was boarded up.

An officer was dispatched to Steve Carli Park on the report that the concession building, occupied during baseball season by Santa Clara Westside Little League, had been broken into.

Resisting Arrest
Location:
Franklin Mall
An officer was flagged down while driving in the area of Franklin Mall. Upon arrival, the officer observed approximately eight (8) subjects fighting near the main entrance a bar. Even after the officer identified to the crowd Police were present, the subjects continued fighting. The officer stepped in when one of the male subjects put his arm around the neck of another subject. The subject continued to be combative and tried punching the officer. After a short struggle, the male was handcuffed and placed under arrest for drunk in public and resisting/obstructing a Police Officer. He was transported to the County jail.

Burglary
Location:
3700 El Camino Real
A Kohl’s Loss Prevention Officer contacted SCPD regarding a theft that had taken place earlier in the day of a jewelry display containing thirty (30) pieces totaling $11,575. A suspect was not identified and remains at large.

Follow-up Evidence from the above case determined a female suspect. SCPD assembled a
team and visited the suspect’s home. She was taken into custody and transported to County jail.

Drug Sale
Location:
El Camino Real and San Tomas Expressway
An Officer stopped a vehicle at El Camino Real and San Tomas Expressway for a non-operational right tail light. The driver’s license was suspended and both of the vehicle’s occupants displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a stimulant. A search of the vehicle yielded a significant amount of marijuana and cocaine, as well as digital scales and packaging materials. It is likely the suspects intended to sell the substances. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the County jail.
