2006 Arbor Day And Earth Day Celebration
Santa Clara, Calif. - March 28, 2006 - The City of Santa Clara will hold its Nineteenth Annual Arbor Day/Earth Day celebration on Friday, April 28, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Triton Museum grounds at 1505 Warburton Ave.

Local schools (approximately 1,000 children) will participate in this year’s program by performing short skits and displaying artwork involving Arbor Day, Earth Day and recycling programs. The Arbor Day/Earth Day event will include guest speakers, information on tree care, and ideas on how to preserve natural resources. Participants will include elected officials, members of the Parks & Recreation Commission and children from local schools. The City will also be presented with a “Tree City USA” Plaque and flag from the U.S. Department of Forestry for its tree preservation and maintenance program as well as a “Growth Award” for increasing awareness and importance of trees in our environment during the past year. The event will conclude with free refreshments.
