| 2005 Arbor Day and Earth Day Celebration |

| Santa Clara, Calif. – April 5, 2005 – The City of Santa Clara will hold its Eighteenth Annual Arbor Day/Earth Day celebration on Friday, April 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Triton Museum grounds at 1505 Warburton Ave. |

| Local schools (approximately 900 children) will participate in this year’s program by performing short skits and displaying artwork involving Arbor Day, Earth Day and recycling programs. The Arbor Day/Earth Day event will include guest speakers, information on tree care, and ideas on how to preserve natural resources. Participants will include elected officials, members of the Parks & Recreation Commission and children from local schools. The City will also be presented with a “Tree City USA” Plaque and flag from the U.S. Department of Forestry for its tree preservation and maintenance program. The event will include information on the importance of trees in our environment, and will conclude with free refreshments. |
