NewsreleasesVacancy on Cultural Advisory Commission The City of Santa Clara has two vacancies on the Cultural Advisory Commissions for full terms ending June 30, 2012. The deadline to receive applications is September 24, 2008 at 5 p.m. The interview date is September 30, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the City Hall lobby. The seven-member Cultural Advisory Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters pertaining to the cultural enrichment and beautification of the City. The commission generally meets on the 1st Monday of each month. The City is also seeking residents who may be interested in serving on any of the City’s nine boards or commissions, or a City committee. Your name can be placed on a mailing list, and you will be notified when vacancies occur. The commissions/committee are: Board of Library Trustees, Civil Service Commission, Cultural Advisory Commission, Historical & Landmarks Commission, International Exchange Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Senior Advisory Commission, Youth Commission, and the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee. Commissions generally meet every month, or every other month, in the evening with these exceptions; the Planning Commission sometimes meets twice per month; the Senior Advisory Commission meetings are held on a weekday morning.
