Santa Clara Hosts Indoor Sculpture Exhibition

Santa Clara, Calif. – April 7, 2005 – The third biennial Indoor Biennial Sculpture Exhibition begins this month with nearly 40 pieces of art on display at the City of Santa Clara City Hall. A jury consisting of commissioners from the City’s Cultural Advisory Commission selected the sculptures from a variety of Bay Area artists. The type of art ranges from a large freestanding steel sculpture by artist Richard Starks through a variety of small, shelf-sized works, to a pair of unusual wall-hanging pieces by artist Tim Ryan.

In addition to the sculpture exhibition, the City and its Cultural Advisory Commission will host an opening reception in the City Council Chambers at 1500 Warburton Avenue in Santa Clara on Saturday, April 23, 2005 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The free reception will feature live music, refreshments, art events for the kids sponsored by the Triton Museum of Art, and a presentation of merit awards to the artist.
